Golden hue with crystal glints. Extremely fine bubbles. Delicate, rich and complex on the nose, developing floral and cooked white peach aromas, underpinned by lovely honey-sweet notes of spice and candied ginger. Well defined and clean on entry. Captivating, rich and full on the palate, the champagne releases a mélange of delicate cherry, wild peach and honey aromas. Its fine, harmonious balance shows promise. The finish is silky, complex and refined, with long lingering aromas.

Description
A cuvee named after the founder of the house, William Deutz. This super prestige cuvee represents Champagne Deutz with all it heart and is quintessential of all that is Deutz.
Pinot Noir: 62%, from vineyards in Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, Bouzy, Louvois and Ambonnay. Chardonnay 27%, from vineyards in Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, with a small proportion from the Montagne de Reims. Pinot Meunier 11% from vineyards in Pierry and Chatillon-sur-Marne.
A stylish aperitif, Cuvée William Deutz pairs perfectly with gourmet dishes: caviar, fine-textured, delicate fish such as arctic char or sea bass (grilled or in a light sauce), seared foie gras, and even subtly and exotically flavoured white meat. It also goes particularly well with sushi and Asian dishes such as a Beijing Duck.

“Predominantly made from Pinot Noir with Chardonnay and a little bit of Pinot Meunier, the 2002 Cuvée William Deutz Brut Millésimé is another highlight of the estate, if not the appellation. The bouquet of this Millésime is bright, very clear, fresh, aromatic and complex, whereas on the palate this is the quintessence of finesse, subtlety, purity and elegance. Sure, this is a structured wine, but it is made like a perfectly shaped antique Greek statue or a jewel. Everything here is perfectly interwoven and nothing stands out except the whole composition, which is perfectly balanced. The bouquet shows finest caramel and spicy oak notes along with white flowers and fine fruit flavors, whereas the palate of this medium-bodied and linear wine is firmly structured, fresh and absolutely delicate. The finish is pure and elegant, as well as complex and long. I would drink this outstanding champagne for its own merits.” – 96 Points, Robert Parker.
