Grace Koshu Toriibira Single Vineyard 2021

$83.00

Clear and healthy. Medium grayish yellow tones. The volume of the scent is rich, with the scent of yellow fruits such as ponkan, satsuma mandarin, and yellow apple, and the spice scent of white pepper and ginger. It has a mellow taste, dryness and mild acidity, and has a taste similar to that of aroma in the mouth, and the nuances of orange peel and the after-flavor are accented with a slight bitterness. White wine with an impressive body.

Description

The Toriihira district of Katsunuma town is greatly treasured by our fourth-generation owner, Shigekazu Misawa. This is hilly area with well-drained gravelly soil well-exposed to the sun and has long been revered as a production area producing the most concentrated grapes in Katsunuma.
Grapes harvested in the Toriihira district are fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks. The ripe tropical fruit aroma and full-bodied flavour are characteristics of the region.

“Grown on a single vineyard, 450m above sea level, with a south-westerly aspect grown
in pebble-rich soils with good drainage. Nashi pear, melon rind, slight spice and nutty sake-like character.
It’s umami, nutty, but pure and delicate in fruit, a faint herbal seasoning and honeyed flavour and sheen to texture,
fine powdery texture, and a long finish, again a hint of bitter rind. Beautiful. Distinctive” Gary Walsh 94 POINTS
