A warm & productive summer put plenty of flesh on this wine. The fruit is issued from Rippon’s mature vines, whose root hairs have invaded the schist rock below. Lurking towards the end of the first mouthful is substantial phenolic power and it soon starts to take charge of the wine… and give it its sense of place

Concentration, power, intensity, drive. All that and more. Incredible wine for its detail and energy, so thirst-quenching too; a triumph. Scents of lemon-lime, dried apple, brambles and blackcurrants, faintest honey. Flavours similar, slippery and then builds into a fine, powdery pucker, then the cavalcade of lime-minerally acidity finishes things beautifully. Feels built for the long haul, despite drinking superbly now.Rated : 95 Points,

Lime zest, lemon blossom, white peach, flint and white pepper on the nose. Medium-bodied with sharp, bracing acidity. So vibrant and compact with a mineral backbone. Really minerally, tart and dry on the finish.
