Watson Family Cabernet Franc 2020

The colour is an intense crimson. The nose is lifted and floral, with an array of Provencal herbs mixed with blue fruits. The palate is vibrant and pristine- with juicy red fruits sitting on top of a brambly tannin backbone. The wine finishes bright and long with sweet ripe red berry fruits.


This wine was sourced from a single vineyard in the Wilyabrup Valley of Margaret River, a sub region known for producing plush wines with ripe tannins. Harvested in mid April. Using a gravity fed system, the fruit was destemmed, sorted berry by berry, lightly crushed and transferred to a stainless steel fermenter. Fermentation lasted eight days, during which time the must was pumped over four times a day for extraction of flavour and tannin. After 5 months, the wine was removed from barrel to retain bright varietal aromatics and flavours.
